What a fabulous Easter weekend.

Well the weather was absolutely fabulous for the Easter weekend. Our guests enjoyed the sunshine and the warm weather and some of the more energetic ones made it to the top of Cader Idris and Aran Fawddry (our local mountains, much more peaceful than busy Snowdon where you sometimes have to queue to get to the top!)

The wisteria on the front of the house is almost in flower and by the amount of buds it could be a fantastic show. The Bluebells around the area are putting on a great display and we had a great Easter Sunday morning flying the birds through the woods and bluebells.

The bluetits have built their nest in the courtyard and we are awaiting eggs. Last year they laid their first egg on the 26th of April, we are waiting to see if the lay on the same day this year! We also have a blackbird nesting in our hedge at the front of the house. Mr blackbird keeps a very close eye  on comings and going when we are sitting in the garden and lets us know if we get too close!

The Cuckoos are back as are the pied flycatchers, blackcaps and redstarts and our resident sparrow hawk is waiting for them all.

Gill is making fresh bread every few days and the chickens down the lane are now laying well supplying us with fresh free range multi coloured eggs. Don’t be put off by the blue coloured eggs, they are laid by the special breed Araucana and have the biggest yellow tastiest yolks!

We’re looking forward to welcoming this weekends guests, it’s going to be another busy one. We do have one room available as I type due to a cancellation….if you’re tempted just give us a call. We are always grateful for guests booking direct with us, it really does make a huge difference.

Tune in to next weeks blog for more news.
