The birds and the bees

The bank holiday weekend was a busy one as expected, the sun came out and we had more glorious weather! The Machynlleth comedy festival was a great success once again and we are looking forward to next year already. All of our guests gave the festival the thumbs up even though for some it was a busman’s holiday. The festival is a great thing for our local area, bringing in lots of visitors and raising the profile of our part of Wales.

Our lovely guests Jennifer and Heather took one of our Bird of prey experiences and our Harris hawks Pete and Dai were very well behaved and put on a good show, along with Jessie the Barn owl.

Our honeysuckle azalea as mentioned last week is still in bloom and smells divine,  the two new cherry trees we have planted are doing well. Hopefully lots of blossom next year.

The Bees are busily buzzing about collecting pollen and doing a great job in the garden. We have planted an area in the garden with wild meadow flowers so hopefully we will see the bees and butterflies on those if and when they flower.

Mrs Bluetit has now finished laying and is now sitting on TEN eggs! Mum and Dad are certainly going to have their work cut out feed the young, we are looking forward to watching their progress in the coming weeks.

Bookings are continuing to come in at a pace and it looks like it’s going to be a busy season for us again. If you are thinking of coming to stay just give us a call to check availability. We really appreciate it when our guests book directly with us, it does make a huge difference.

Have a great weekend, the forecast is looking good!🌞🌞🌞
